Lululemon Sneakers…am I reading this article correctly? “Lululemon Steps Into Footwear With Athletic Propulsion Labs Sneakers”!! How exciting, I thought! I am trying not to be such a sucker for advertising and labels but sometimes (I have to admit) I cannot help myself. I am one of the reasons why advertisers make so much money.
While I’m on the topic- I want to share with you an exciting milestone in the life of my blog. I have finally hit a critical mass and Google Adsense has allowed me to be a member of their club. Woo hoo- perhaps now this site will become more than a financial drain on me and my family. Thank you to all of you for helping me to reach this goal.
I digress…anyway, back to the topic at hand. Lulu lemon’s new sneakers. First of all they are only sold at a very select number of locations. So off to NYC I went. The styles are very nice. They are not branded with the Lulu logo. They are made by Athletic Propulsion Labs- a very good sneaker company. They are not inexpensive but what good running/training shoe is?
I bought a nice pair and was drawn to them by the fact that they were slip on’s. When I ran in them, I loved the fact that my foot stayed in place. First day of the Barry’s Bootcamp test was a success. On day 2 I guess I didn’t flatten out the inside part that goes up against my ankle and got a pretty bad blister on the back of my foot.
My takeaway- the sneakers are fashionable, not Lulu branded (so you may just purchase them elsewhere), do not qualify for the sweat collective discount (if you are in the personal training field this is a big deal) and all in all are nothing special. I’d stick with the ON sneakers that I’ve recommended in the past. These are still a personal favorite of mine.
