Detoxing your body is a great way to get ready for summer.
Be sure to take a look at the detoxing yoga poses from part three of this program.
I’ve added peanut butter back to my diet and not a day too soon.
If you are just getting started on the detox and accidentally landed on day four, read part one of this blog by clicking here. Today, I added peanut butter back to my diet. I didn’t realize how much of a staple it was for me. Controlling portion size is a challenge but pairing this amazing treat with a carb (rice cake, bread or one of my almond flour scones makes my day so much brighter. In addition, it fends off many of my nighttime cravings.
The biggest problem this time of year is dinners out and bbq’s. I am getting myself ready to prepare for those challenges unique to summer. I am committing to reviewing menu’s before I head out (so I’m not pressured into poor choices). Also, my staple, the large salad, will join me at whatever BBQ I am invited to. If I don’t have time to make the salad, they sell amazing pre-made salads in the catering section of Fresh Direct. They also sell great fruit salads if you want to bring a dessert too.
Today I started my day with the tumeric/lemon cleanse powder and 16 oz. of room temperature water. Then I went to pilates.
After pilates, I stoped in for a green drink (apple, spinach, kale and pineapple). I'm told not to have too much kale as it will interfere with the thyroid medicine I am taking.
I met a friend for lunch. I'd like to say I had a salad with grilled chicken (which is a great lunch suggestion). However, I won't say what I really had!
Mid-afternoon, I'm planning to make a protein shake with the powder I suggested in the earlier post. I'll add frozen banana and almond milk.
I'm going out for dinner. However, I'm planning to go with the healthy salad to make up for lunch.
The last note about tonight is that I will choose between a glass of wine and dessert. Choices, choices...I'll let you know what I get. Wish me luck!
Are you doing the detox? Have you purchased your detox powders? Do you have other powders that you like? On my facebook page many of my readers have mentioned the protein powders they prefer. Also, I’m doing a charity check in for Juvenile Diabetes. For every person that likes my facebook page in the month of June, I will donate $1 to JDRF. Last week, I wrote a check for $200 for my May likes! If you comment below, I’ll donate $5.
