My list of the things I want the people in my life to buy for me (hint, hint)
Ok, so I know it’s kind of late to be putting out a gift guide for the holidays. The thing is, I am always in denial this time of year. I still haven’t caught up from the start of the school year (it’s still September, right?) and I refuse to believe the holidays are around the corner. So as a result, I am scrambling as usual to buy gifts at the last minute. As I combed the stores last week looking for gifts for my daughters, I came across so many great beauty items, it seemed silly to keep them to myself, so I decided to create a last-minute gift guide. Here it is!
Beachwaver Curling Iron — this is the #1 item on my wish list. I have never tried it and have to admit that while I initially loved the idea of a curling iron that actually does all the work for me (because I am as curling iron-challenged as one can be), I was a little worried that my hair could get stuck in the device or that it would start turning and never stop. So I went to the Amazon website and watched a how-to video that completely put my fears to rest. With the Beachwaver, you control the turning speed, you can stop the device from turning by releasing the button and you can get your hair out of the curling iron very easily. It’s basically idiot-proof, which is perfect for me. Now I am dreaming of the beach and my future perfect beach waves!
Drybar Texture Toolkit — Drybar has created a styling toolkit with a flat iron, curling iron, clips and texture products. I actually own the Drybar curling iron and love it, despite the previously-established fact that I am incompetent at styling my own hair. It has a manual turning mechanism instead of the electric one that the Beachwaver has, which still makes it easier than most curling irons. This set would be a great gift for the teenager in your life who might not yet have any heat styling tools.
Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer — ok I know this is very pricey, but that makes it a perfect candidate for your holiday wish list! This product seems like the Porsche of hair dryers. It claims to cut down on drying time and frizz and prevents extreme heat damage. It is also lightweight and has magnetic attachments. I’ve read the reviews and they are amazing.
Clarins Moisture Rich Body Lotion, Double Size — this is hands-down my favorite body lotion on the market. It smells amazing and Clarins has introduced a double sized 13-oz version for $58. It will last through the winter and I promise you will love it. The 6.5 ounce tube is normally $43.00, so this size is a really great deal.
Clarins Scented Hand and Nail Trio — I also happen to love Clarins hand creams. This trio is a perfect gift for anyone this winter because who doesn’t need a good hand cream? These are small enough to keep in your car, in your bag and at your desk, so you always have one when you need it. I plan on buying a lot of these as gifts.
Voluspa Vermeil Mini Tin Candle Set and Voluspa Maison Travel Tin Candles — I love scented candles. These are great gifts because each candle has a different scent and comes in a tin with a lid, so they are perfect for travel.
Fresh Sugar Lip Suite Set — I am obsessed with these lip balms and use them all the time. They are super moisturizing, smell great and come in different natural sheer tinted colors, but the best part is they all have SPF 15!
The Art of Shaving The 4 Elements of the Perfect Shave Kit Starter Kit — let’s not forget to pamper the man in your life. The Art of Shaving products are amazing and this starter set would make a great gift.
Kiehl’s Ultimate Man Refueling Set — this is also a great set for that special guy. It contains Facial Fuel Energizing Scrub, Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream and Ultimate Man Body Scrub Soap
Skinnydip Ditsy Glitter Manicure Set — who wouldn’t love this travel manicure set in a pretty glittery case?
Jo Malone London Cologne Collection — I love all things Jo Malone. This set has 5 small sized scents. Last year I bought my teenage daughter a sampler similar to this and she loved it. As an added bonus, everyone in the family got to try different fragrances when she wasn’t looking. It was a huge hit!
Laura Mercier Les Petits Souffles Body Creme Collection — I love love love Laura Mercier body cream products. I discovered them a few years ago and was instantly hooked. I literally get stopped on the street all the time by people wanting to know what fragrance I’m wearing. I cannot even explain how good they smell. The Almond Coconut Milk scent makes you feel like you are on vacation and the Amber Vanilla scent is unreal. The best part is the scent lasts all day long. No joke. Run, don’t walk, to buy this gift set for yourself, your family and friends. This set has 6 different fragrances, so you can decide which one you like best before going back for more.
Philosophy Christmas Cookie Shampoo, Shower Gel and Bubble Bath — the name says it all. All of the little girls in your life would love this gift.
One Two Lash — it’s kind of a funny thing to ask for false eyelashes as a gift, but this is the type of thing I really want that I won’t necessarily buy for myself. This product has gotten rave reviews. With revolutionary magnetic lash technology, One Two Lash claims to be easy to apply and requires no adhesives! It’s a must-try and I will buy it for myself if no one buys it for me.
Deborah Lippman Bed of Roses Nail Set— a limited edition set of 6 nude nail shades. These colors seem like they would look good on everyone.
These are my top picks! I could go on and on, but I need to get out and go shopping! Enjoy and have a happy holiday season!
