As many of you know, I am constantly in search of products to review that make me look younger and eye-opening hacks for everyday life.
One tell tale sign of a woman over 40 is her eyes. The dark circles that plague me can drive me crazy! Now don’t get me wrong- these beautiful eyes have seen 2 babies being born, walked the streets of Manhattan on 9/11 and married the love of her life. I’m not complaining- merely looking to keep my gateway to the world shining as brightly as possible.
One of my guilty pleasures is to spend time at the cosmetic counters. I cannot resist a free make-up application or (gasp) samples! I have a closet full of samples and cannot part with one!
So here is the tip of all tips for your eyes- are you ready? It’s a great one…
First (and of course you know this) a great eye cream is key
Second, apply a nice concealer
Finally, (now here’s the exciting hack) apply a cream blush over the dark circles under your eyes
I was a non-believer too…when the Chanel make-up artist pulled out a cream blush and applied it under my eyes, I thought she was crazy. However, I could not believe my eyes (literally)!
If you have blue/purplish circles, the key is to counteract with a color that will negate the tones. At the end, you will want to blend with more concealer.
So, what should I do now?
Either go to a store like Sephora. The key to sephora is you can play with the various shades and brands without being bothered by a pushy sales person. Or, if you are looking for the full luxury experience, find a Chanel counter and have them do it for you.
One thing to keep in mind if you do it yourself: Do not use a powder blush- it can dry you out and the creases will look cake-y.
Send me pictures of your before and after. Also, do you have eye-opening tips you’d like to share?
