What makes someone spend over $100 on leggings?
Most of us look in the mirror and immediately focus on our flaws. Amazingly, what we wear can have such a powerful effect on these feelings. When I put on my favorite leggings I am overwhelmed with feelings of confidence, strength, empowerment and quite frankly happiness! My favorite leggings are able to mask that dreaded cellulite. Here’s my story…
10 years ago (before I knew about Lululemon) I began my personal training journey. Living in Boca Raton, Florida I visited my favorite mall and frequented Bluefish Sport. When I put on their leggings all my dimples in my thighs and buttocks magically went away. A few years later, I moved to NY and continued to visit Boca for my activewear needs. Sadly, the store closed down and I could not find the clothing anywhere! I reached out to the company on-line and, low and behold, 10 years later they replied!!!

Here are a few tips to consider when buying leggings:
1. They must feel comfortable and look flattering when you first put them on- if not, return immediately!
2. Make sure the material is to your liking an seems like it will withstand workouts and washes. The thing I love most is that my 10 year old Bluefish Sport leggings look like they are brand new!
2. Black is always the most flattering and goes with almost anything. Make sure you have a few basic black leggings that you love- they will not let you down!
3.Try Tooshie wraps (see below) or skirts over your leggings to hid a multitude of imperfections.
4.If you are petite like me, cropped leggings are more flattering. At 5’1″ I prefer the cropped or petite where as many of my clients at 5’6 and up feel longer, leaner & more confident wearing full length leggings vs. crops.
I am often asked for tips on how to get rid of cellulite. These stubborn fat cells/deposits deep in the layers of your skin can drive a woman mad! To minimize the “cottage cheese” texture on thighs & butt try drinking a ton of water (8-10 glasses a day- try with fresh lemon or apple cider vinegar) and eating a more nutritious diet. For your diet, the cleaner the better- limit processed foods.
Lastly, exercise, meditate and love your body!!
