These falafel balls are packed with healthy ingredients that will nourish your soul and keep you full during a long day of working. For extra flavor, I sometimes add a little extra garlic and coriander.
Feel free to try your variation of this recipe and let me know about it in the comments. I think you should experiment with the spices! Just know I thought about perhaps using alternatives like white pepper powder, oregano, or even cayenne powder to add an exotic and alternative kick to this recipe. Try it out!
- 1 1/2 cups chickpeas (Best if soaked overnight instead of using canned!)
- 1 handful fresh parsley (Remove any thick stems)
- 1 handful fresh coriander (Remove any thick stems)
- 1-2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 white onion
- 4 tbsp flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp paprika powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne powder or red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
Heat cooking in a pot
Grind all ingredients in food processor
Form balls with wet hands
Place balls in hot oil and cook until brown
Remove and plat balls on paper towels
These are heated and cooked in oil, so you really should not make this in large amounts ahead of time. You should have these fresh off the stove!
If you do happen to have leftovers, please refrigerate immediately and reheat in a toaster/convection oven to keep a crispy texture!
